Rev. Judith Fleenor is a staff minister at the Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living where she has been a member of the congregation for over 17 years. The focus of her current ministry work is in the area of creating interfaith understanding. She has a passion for creating environments where people can find their own spiritual path while allowing others to find the divine in ways that meet their needs. She is on the Board of Directors of the Marin Interfaith Council where she serves on the education and celebrations team as well as the development team. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Interfaith Center at the Presidio. She is a panel moderator for the Islamic Network Group’s Interfaith Speakers Bureau, which facilitates multi-faith conversations in schools and other public settings. She has been asked to participate in the Abrahamic Family Reunion project sponsored by the Fetzer Institute and Esalen.
Prior to receiving her masters in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute and moving her career toward ministry and interfaith work, Judith held various roles in project management and technology training for companies domestically and internationally. Highlights of her career include: being on the opening team for Euro Disney, doing a Sale Force Automation rollout for Seimens/Rolm and creating the policy and procedures and training for the Internet to the desk top rollout for Seagate Technologies. In 1993 with an entrepreneurial spirit she and some friends started a company based on Internet protocols. Later she went on to become the Director of Training Worldwide for Netscape Communications/AOL.
As a practitioner, Rev. Judith enjoys working with people who are ready to take things up a notch. She brings her extensive business background and her gentle spiritual awareness to each counseling session to pray people into the practical experiences they want to achieve.
Rev. Judith also loves facilitating and creating rituals for various occasions, from traditional weddings and baby blessings to ritualizing the creation of a new business or celebration a major birthday. She has a diverse spiritual background. She was raised in the Mill Valley Community Church, UCC and Christ Presbyterian in Terra Linda. During her years of business travels she was exposed to an eclectic domestic experience including Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, fundamentalist churches and Unity. Now as a minister, she is often asked to preach in churches of various denominations. International travels allowed visitation of various religious settings including personal conversations with Buddhist monks in Thailand and China, as well as exploration of Hindu temples. She completed a yearlong program focusing on earth based pagan and goddess traditions from several cultures. She brings all of this knowledge and experience into creating heart-opening ceremonies.
