The Purpose Of Pledging
Contributions represent the bulk of our annual income and make the operations of the Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living possible. When you pledge to this community, you increase our ability to offer classes, events, Sunday Services and other wonderful offerings. Financial well-being is one or our top priorities and the only way for us to stay financially solid is by your pledged giving.
Moving To Higher Ground By Giving
This year’s theme, “Moving To Higher Ground,” is a call to look up, move forward and experience a shift, both individually and as a community. Giving and receiving is a key method of putting yourself in the natural flow of Good. Giving with a grateful heart directs your attention to the Source of all Good,which includes money. The practice of tithing is a demonstration of your recognition that Spirit is your source. A regular giving practice keeps open the flow of Good in your life.
How Much To Give
We encourage and appreciate pledges at any level, and we would like all pledgers to consider giving at least $50 to $60 a week. This amount achieves our budgetary goals to sustain our current services and programs, which includes: Sunday services; continuous classes and workshops; office support; holiday celebrations; youth church; and so much more. In addition, it will support our expansion of programs and greater outreach into our community.
If you have already been giving at the $50 to $60 a week level, we suggest you consider moving to the practice of tithing. Tithing is a powerful practice of giving 10% of your income to the source of your spiritual inspiration. Tithing demonstrates your faith in Spirit as your source of all Good and your gratitude for all the Good you receive. If you want to begin tithing, or have questions about it, or would like to speak to others who do tithe, please let us know so we may support you in beginning this wonderful practice.
If you are already giving to GGCSL at a generous level, we thank you! Your grand gesture of support serves as an example of great faith in giving and it also allows others to join us so that we may teach them our principles.
How To Give
Upon confirming your pledged giving for the year, you may give in several ways. You may give weekly or monthly, by check, credit, or debit card. You can even give by cash, if you put it in an envelope with your name on it We encourage you to sign up for our auto-tithe system, in which your credit or debit card is charged automatically. Whether you attend a particular Sunday or not, you know you are generously giving to your spiritual community and we can count on your gift. Sometimes auto-tithing can have a feeling of disconnect, so we encourage you to use our Blessing Cards to symbolize your tithing process. Simply place your filled-out blessing card in the offering basket and let it embody your auto-tithe. This gives you the ritual of participating in the offering and also keeps your attention on the Source of your good.
Take advantage of this chance to thoughtfully and deeply consider how giving and receiving blesses your life and that of others. Don’t miss the Sunday talks which will teach about the aspects of giving. Talk with your friends or classmates about giving, so that you can help others to open to this wonderful practice, and you can expand your own giving practice. Let us all allow this pledge program to Move Us To Higher Ground.

Financial Well-being and New Home Priorities
- Our first priority is to garner the commitments necessary to support our financial well-being such that our fiscal-year operating budget is fully funded.
- It is in addition to this funding that new home commitments will be added.
What an exciting point in our evolution as a community! Thanks to all The Secret media attention, a whole new audience is seeking our message and we would love to expand to a brand new home to welcome them all in!
